Tap Doesn't Mean Sub: Two New Cocktails Pouring This Summer

Good news for anyone who's ever stood at a busy bar watching their cocktail get built one painstaking step at a time. Our cocktails on tap are back for summer, and the line-up just got bigger.

We teamed up with Campari NZ to do something the industry said couldn't be done properly: real cocktails, made with real spirits, poured straight from the tap. No ethanol-based premix. No shortcuts. Just the good stuff, ready in seconds.

Urban List just ran a feature on it, and they summed it up better than we could: tap doesn't mean sub.

The OG: Aperol Spritz

Our Aperol Spritz has been pouring for a couple of seasons now, and it's not just us who rate it. It took home Gold at the NZ Spirit Awards 2026. Bitter, bubbly, bright orange. You know the drill.

The new kids on tap

Appleton Estate Jamaican Mule Jamaican rum with a proper ginger bite, sharpened up with fresh lime. Smooth going down, with a little kick on the way out.

Espolòn Paloma Tequila and grapefruit, crisp and fizzy, with a clean, slightly bitter citrus finish. Basically summer in a glass.

Why put cocktails on tap?

Because nobody goes out to wait. A tapped cocktail lands in your hand almost as fast as a pint, and it tastes exactly the same every round, no matter who's behind the bar. Same spirits, same balance, every single time.

Where to drink them

A growing list of venues around the country is pouring the new duo. Be one of the first to try them at:

• Canyon Taproom, Arthurs Point, Queenstown. Our home turf. Big lawn, big views, weekly menu deals, and now your favourite cocktails on tap.
• The Local, Rees Road, Queenstown. Rooftop bar, great kai, good tunes.
• Lucky 8, Courtenay Place, Wellington. Pan-Asian tapas and DJs. A Paloma with their chilli chicken is a strong move.
• Bar Ziti & Flush Urban Golf + Bar, Customs Street East, Auckland. Golf sims, cocktails on tap. Enough said.
